We had a wonderful week getting to know each other. Our class is full of amazing students and I can't wait to see all that they will achieve this year! We learned a lot last week about having a growth mindset in 3rd grade. Please have your child explain what it means to have a growth mindset!
NWEA Testing
NWEA testing is
scheduled to begin this week. The tests are taken in our classroom on the
laptop computers. Students will be tested in the areas of math and reading. Please make sure your child is well rested
and has a good breakfast on our testing days. This is our schedule
for the week:
Monday 1:00 P.M
Wednesday 11:00 A.M.
Back to School Night
Back to School
Night for parents is scheduled for Monday, September 16th. Third grade
parents will meet all together in the media center beginning at 5:00.
Mrs. Ettinger, Ms. Reimers and I will present our school year expectations,
curriculum and other important information about 3rd grade. After we talk
with you, please join us in our classrooms to sign up for volunteer
opportunities to help in the classroom, with parties, mystery readers, and
other events. Third Grade is a big transition year and I look forward to
working with you to make this year a success for your child. We will
finish by 5:45. Please mark your calendar and plan to attend this
important night! See you all soon!
Student Council
Third graders have a
chance to be a part of Lincoln’s Student Council this year as a classroom
representative. Campaigning in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades at Lincoln School will take
place this week. Interested students can
bring home a permission slip on Monday containing all the information about
Student Council at Lincoln.
Homework
Tomorrow we will be
sending home a homework page that requires students to read for
20 minutes a night. We will be going over the sheet with all the students tomorrow. They
should be able to explain how it works. We will talk about our homework policies more in
depth with families at Back to School Night.
