Swimming went great last week! We hope your child feels more confident in the pool, and can also tell you what they learned about water safety.

Reading Counts
We will begin using the Scholastic Reading Counts program this week. After students finish reading a book, they will log in to the Reading Counts program and take a comprehension quiz on their book.  Students will need to get 7 out of 10 questions correct to pass the quiz.  They earn points for each quiz passed.  Some books are worth one point and some are worth more than ten.  How many points a book is worth is based upon how long the book is and the reading level of the book.  As a measure, most Magic Tree House books are worth three points.  Students should be choosing "good fit" book at their reading level to read for Reading Counts. Please let me know if you have questions.  Remember that the important thing is that your child spends time reading every day.
